Munagaku Podi Annam
Share
Munagaku Podi Annam is five-minute comfort food at its most honest — hot annam, a knob of neyyi, and a heaped teaspoon of Zesty Munagaku Podi stirred through until every grain is coated in that deep, earthy green. The moringa and dal spices in the podi do all the seasoning work, filling the bowl with a warm, faintly grassy aroma that feels like home. No cooking, no chopping — just rice and a podi that punches well above its weight.
Prep: 2 min | Cook: 3 min | Serves: 1 | Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Zesty Munagaku Podi
- 1 cup cooked rice (annam), hot and freshly made
- 1 tsp ghee (neyyi)
- to taste salt
- 1 small papad, to serve (optional)
Method
- Scoop the hot cooked rice into a plate or bowl — it must be steaming; cold rice will not absorb the podi evenly.
- Add the ghee directly onto the hot rice and mix gently until it melts through and every grain glistens.
- Sprinkle the Zesty Munagaku Podi over the rice — start with 1 heaped teaspoon and taste before adding more.
- Mix from the bottom up with a gentle folding motion so the podi distributes evenly without clumping.
- Taste for salt and adjust. Serve immediately, with a crisp papad on the side if you have one.
