Oregano Pizza Seasoning Homemade Pizza
Share
This is the pizza you stopped ordering out for. A crisp base, a tangy tomato spread, melted cheese — and Herby Spice Blend dusted generously over the top before it goes into the oven. That oregano-basil-miriyalu profile bakes right into the cheese, giving you exactly the flavour those little sachets at the pizza counter are trying to replicate — except here, it is built into the pizza itself.
Prep: 10 min | Cook: 12 min | Serves: 2 | Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Herby Spice Blend
- 2 store-bought pizza bases (or homemade, 8-inch)
- 4 tbsp tomato ketchup or pizza sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella or processed cheese, grated
- 1 small capsicum, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 8-10 olives or sweet corn (optional topping)
- 1 tsp oil
Method
- Preheat your oven or OTG to 200°C. If you are using a tawa, heat it on medium flame and cover it with a lid — it should be hot before the base goes in.
- Place the pizza bases on a baking tray or directly on the hot tawa. Brush lightly with oil so the underside crisps up rather than steaming.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly across each base, going close to the edges. The sauce should be a thin, even layer — not pooled in the centre.
- Scatter the sliced capsicum and onion over the sauce. Pile the grated cheese on top so it covers the vegetables completely.
- Dust 1 teaspoon of Herby Spice Blend evenly over each pizza before it goes into the heat. This is the step that matters — the oregano, basil, and miriyalu bloom into the cheese as it melts, not after.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden at the edges and the base sounds hollow when tapped. Slice immediately and serve hot.
